Pharmacy Technician

Launch Date:  Cohort 2: February 3, 2025.

Training Provider: Partnership with Howard University College of Pharmacy

Seats Available: 30 per cohort 

Structure and Schedule: Training is a combination of in-person instruction and a paid externship later in the program.

Cohort 1 Instruction: 16 weeks, 3 hours [in the evening] on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Cohort 1 Paid Externships: 160 hours over 4 weeks, dates and times dependent on training site.

Cohort 2 Instruction: 16 weeks,3 hours, 3 days a week, days of week to be determined.

Cohort 2 Paid Externships: 160 hours over 4 weeks, dates and times dependent on training site.

Program Length: 22 weeks, with 2 week career readiness training and post-program support for certification available until May 2025

Completion: Program completer's will receive a certificate showing achievement of the required knowledge and skills to be a Pharmacy Technician.

CredentialEligibility: Program completer's will be eligible to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam to earn a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.

DC Licensure Eligibility: Program completer's will be eligible to receive a Pharmacy Technician license through the DC Board of Pharmacy.
